Amber Crystal Lace CD, MX, MXJ

Amber was our first dog and through her we were introduced into the world of dog training. She was lightening fast and truly had world team potential. Amber went farther than most first agility dogs and we were very proud of her. She taught us many things about ourselves and dog training. Amber bears the responsibility for the creation of DOGTAG and our commitment to good foundation skills and she is the "Patron Saint of DOGTAG". Some of Amber's achievements include:
- Amber was nigh untouchable in the Jumpers ring.
- First MXJ dog in Oklahoma.
- 91 MXJ Legs under 55 different judges
- 11 MX Leg (contact, table, and stay on the line issues)
- 2,565 Speed Points
- 9 QQ's
- 7 AKC Agility Titles and 1 Obedience title
- 2 UKC Agility Titles and 2 Obedience titles. U-AGI, U-AGII, U-CD, U-CDX
- Therapy Dog International Certification
- Ate an entire Pecan pie at one sitting (that was her Daddy's fault)
Some of the highlights of Amber's career were:
- 19XX #3 Cocker Spaniel in the country.
- 19XX #x Cocker spaniel in the country.
- She and I were selected to participated in the Astro Hall 1999 Super Dogs Show.
- Amber ran at the 2000 AKC Nationals in the International Class.
Unfortunately our training wasn't up to the task for such high aspirations as world team. We failed to teach solid foundation skills, just a few of those were:
- Reliable stay at the line (see crate stay exercise)
- Good contact training (see touch target training)
- Down, sounds too simple (see hand signal down exercise)
- Release word (see crate stay exercise)
