Mom wanted me to take on this conformation competition for a breed championship title, but this agility thing looks like a lot more fun! Maybe I can do both…
...And so he did. Mesa began the Head Start class at DogTag Agility in April, 2007 while earning his breed Championship proving dogs are smart enough to do two things at once, unlike some of us humans.
Mesa was successful in agility competition earning Excellent Standard and Jumpers with Weaves titles and competed very successfully into the Master class. Unfortunately in March, 2011, he pulled a muscle severe enough for me to retire him from agility. Retired dogs are invited to classes at DOGTAG at any time… the bars are removed or just lowered to 4 inches. He remembers how to do the courses and he still enjoys what he learned to love.
